The day off

Today I fell in love with:
Cambridge
Rooftop gardens and..
Starbucks Cafe Latte
On my day off I started with a little work at the office filling out an application for a television show here in the UK. The I went downtown Huntingdon and post a gift to Ms. Laura Williams and the application. I got myself a stand from Argos to hang my clothes in my room (pictures later this week witha room tour!) and also a Ploughmans Sandwaich from Sainsbury. Following that I went to Cambridge for some Starbucks, city gazing and grazing around an art gallery..full of cow art. Will share more later. Now it's to bed with a hot drink, some Vicks and someone suggest: Hot Sauce (Louisiana Hot Sauce here I come!!). And a chick flick (course!).

A new leaf has turned

As I mentioned before - I am in love with mini books. I started scrapbooking with a 12x12 book then went down to an 8x8 and minis. I love minis because you can give them as a gift or put them around the house and they are just oh so beautiful.
This one will be a gift most likely. It's a coffee sleeve mini with quotes from famous people about coffee! Yummy.
"I am selling kits to make these very mini books in my shop next week, keep an eye out! Love."

Since working out and interviewing for jobs I've felt so refreshed. I'm ready to take on the world. Which is huge improvement to this time last year. Then I was afraid of going out, of riding in cars and of life basically, every ache and pain worried me because of my car accident (it was bad, after my settlement I'll share pictures). I'm still afraid to drive, but I'll over come that some day!
And my first entry.
I love Casting Crowns. They have songs I love to sing along with.
Tomorrow I am going to take lots of pictures!

Etsy update and DEFY*STYLE

When Daniel was up here visiting for a few days he asked me to measure him for a t-shirt. Daniel is in a band and he needs some hot shirts to wear for photo shoots and gigs. Well, he showed me DEFY STYLE. A shop on e-bay. What I found was some of the most amazing tees I've ever seen. The reason I like these are because the use of color, the theme, heritage and the story behind it.

Here are a couple of my fav girl tees..have a look at the guy ones they are awesome too. I think when I lose some more weight I will get a guy one with two six guns on it! Considering I'm Six Gun Annie!!

I thought this was a sweet vintage style!

I updated my shop with those delicious candles I told you about! My favourite ones are the little tealight ones. They are so sweet, not too smelly (like some can be) a just right scent and oh so cute. I like to display mine on a vintage teacup!

I also made a couple cupcake size ones, they are two toned. Get this - they fit inside the vintage teacup. Hehe it's a really great size candle. I think what I would do if I lived in the USA right now is go to a thrift store and get some old glassware and old teacups and glasses (like goofus glass) and put these darlings in them. What a sweet home decor idea aye.

There aren't many so get your hands on them when you can. I made one other candle it's a standard short candle that fits in most candle holders. They are scented as Sugar Cookie but I think they smell like a soft Cotton Candy. It's a real comforting scent. Hope you enjoy!
When I get better (and they let me work!!) I think I will make some green and yellow mint candles!
All these candles have beeswax in them - which produces and more cozy flame and lasts longer!
What are your fav designers?

About Me..

List to do before 29 April:
- finish candles. Today I made cotton candy candles - pink and blue!! They smell great and I also made little mini tealights - they are pink and elegant. They will burn longer - they have organic beeswax.
- get two magazines: Elle and Vogue or Marie Claire, or even a cooking or scrapbooking one.
- finish mini me envelope book.
- make vegetarian lasagne for church Sunday.
- make a thank-you card for Buffy for getting me pickles. They have helped me not to cheat on my diet. Oh and Louisiana Hot Sauce.
- take alergy meds regularly and get plenty of rest and drink a lot of water.
- photograph my latest etsy items for an update.
- keep an eye on my e-bay stuff (buying and selling)
- wash my hair and make sure it's clean (enough to last a few days) including my extensions.
- cut Mum's hair.
- watch 17 Again.
- make sure I have no nail varnish or make up on.
- pack a small bag with plenty to do, nighties and clothes and slippers and robes.
- laundry and linens.

Reasons for (some of the) list:

I have really bad health. I have thyroid problems and a month ago my doctor said "you don't produce enough of the hormone that makes your heart beat. I'm suprprised it's beating now." so I am on a few more drugs - feeling so much better from it. I also have PCOS and Hydradenitis Superativa. Both of which can get so much better if I were to lose some weight. However - because of the thyroid problem..it takes a lot of time and is really hard for me to lose a significant amount of weight. For many reasons..like if my thyroid is off it can make me tired and weak. There have been times when I couldn't even get out of bed or function properly because it was sooooo low. Or if it's off I can be emotional and comfort eat or not eat all then I gain so much back when I start eating again. So, I decided to have weight loss surgery. I had orginally looked into lap band (my father had it) however our surgeon told me that he thought Gastric Bypass would be a better option. I would lose weight fast - stay motivated and most likely would not fail like I would a diet. At this point my weight is seriously effecting my health and this will definitely be a great tool for me to take advantage of. My goal is to lose weight obviously, however - I also want to be hysically able to row a boat, climb a mountain, play tennis, run and jog, play sports and save whopping $ on clothes by getting to buy in sales and shop at Walmart/Asda! My doctors goals are to improve my health and get me off a couple meds I'm on. I can't wait.

There are of course complications that can arise. I could have trouble in surgery, develop a blood clot after, split staples or stitches or become malnutirious. I could develop dumping syndrome or get sick. There are fatalities and I am very nervous. But I trust God and my surgeon - so we are a go.

Take off to the rest of my life: 29 April 2009, five days and counting..

There will be pain and tears..followed by success.

Here is to health!

xx

ps. this means I might/might not be online or posting for a week or so.
