It's all cute

Just wanted to share with you a few things I did this weekend.
I painted this little birdie painting (12"x12") for my shop next week! I will be painting about 6 more paintings as well, this is just a sneak peek!
I painted this Marilyn Monroe for my friend Megan's guest bedroom. She collects Monroe items and it looks soooo classy. This isn't my style, I don't really paint like this much at all so it was a first. How did I do?
And this is Charlie(my Patterdale Daschund) drinking juice from a straw! One night I was drinking some juice and I was finished (because I can only drink and eat a tiny bit at a time) so I thought I'd let him try and he seriously drinks it! Haha. Aww bless him with his tiny legs and big head. :)
Another fantastic week in the bag. What is to come this next week? LOTS LOTS LOTS of painting and drawing, a shop update, going to the gym 3 times a week and doing crunches every night, applying at more jobs(hoping I'll get the Day Care job!!)

You've got to love her, squeeze her, don't tease her - never leave her! Try a little tenderness yeah yeah..x

Isn't she absolutemly gorgeous?

Even better..she is a musician..
I had a blast. I did over do it a little bit probably, because well 1. I didn't eat enough or drink enough and 2. I felt horrid Sunday.
But good news, I feel much better today. So here we go.
Anyone else have a good weekend??

About Me..

List to do before 29 April:
- finish candles. Today I made cotton candy candles - pink and blue!! They smell great and I also made little mini tealights - they are pink and elegant. They will burn longer - they have organic beeswax.
- get two magazines: Elle and Vogue or Marie Claire, or even a cooking or scrapbooking one.
- finish mini me envelope book.
- make vegetarian lasagne for church Sunday.
- make a thank-you card for Buffy for getting me pickles. They have helped me not to cheat on my diet. Oh and Louisiana Hot Sauce.
- take alergy meds regularly and get plenty of rest and drink a lot of water.
- photograph my latest etsy items for an update.
- keep an eye on my e-bay stuff (buying and selling)
- wash my hair and make sure it's clean (enough to last a few days) including my extensions.
- cut Mum's hair.
- watch 17 Again.
- make sure I have no nail varnish or make up on.
- pack a small bag with plenty to do, nighties and clothes and slippers and robes.
- laundry and linens.

Reasons for (some of the) list:

I have really bad health. I have thyroid problems and a month ago my doctor said "you don't produce enough of the hormone that makes your heart beat. I'm suprprised it's beating now." so I am on a few more drugs - feeling so much better from it. I also have PCOS and Hydradenitis Superativa. Both of which can get so much better if I were to lose some weight. However - because of the thyroid problem..it takes a lot of time and is really hard for me to lose a significant amount of weight. For many reasons..like if my thyroid is off it can make me tired and weak. There have been times when I couldn't even get out of bed or function properly because it was sooooo low. Or if it's off I can be emotional and comfort eat or not eat all then I gain so much back when I start eating again. So, I decided to have weight loss surgery. I had orginally looked into lap band (my father had it) however our surgeon told me that he thought Gastric Bypass would be a better option. I would lose weight fast - stay motivated and most likely would not fail like I would a diet. At this point my weight is seriously effecting my health and this will definitely be a great tool for me to take advantage of. My goal is to lose weight obviously, however - I also want to be hysically able to row a boat, climb a mountain, play tennis, run and jog, play sports and save whopping $ on clothes by getting to buy in sales and shop at Walmart/Asda! My doctors goals are to improve my health and get me off a couple meds I'm on. I can't wait.

There are of course complications that can arise. I could have trouble in surgery, develop a blood clot after, split staples or stitches or become malnutirious. I could develop dumping syndrome or get sick. There are fatalities and I am very nervous. But I trust God and my surgeon - so we are a go.

Take off to the rest of my life: 29 April 2009, five days and counting..

There will be pain and tears..followed by success.

Here is to health!

xx

ps. this means I might/might not be online or posting for a week or so.

I love the sunny sun sun

I made this little dress for a girl that my friend adopted from China, I hope it fits, she is 3 and I heard she is tall, width is fine, I guess either way it can be a top too!! The tie is a brooch so it's removable.

I did some braided ties. Braiding is a GREAT help for any straps or ties. It makes a simple and pretty look.

And you don't have to hide-seam sew any straps!

I thought this was a cute little addition too!

Tonight is the last lesson in my class! Yummy Sorbet!! But no worries, I am doing a summer class with yummy kebabs, bacon florentine, chocolate banana melts(for throwing on a open fire! Go lake food!!) and stuffed Jelapenos!

That won't start until May, as this month I am having gastirc bypass surgery. You've heard the horror stories, believe me, so have I but I've heard the great successes too. And although I'm super nervous (considering today I got a paper telling me to sign on the dotted line because you could die in surgery or from bloodclots) I'm super excited too.

It's Friday! Friday is my favourite day of the week..
1. Tonight I stay up real late. I might get some typing in before that.
2. Tomorrow morning - hello sleeping in (minus letting the dog out lol)
3. I might visit my Aunt Georgina tomorrow
4. Start the Natalini project (a thank you package of goodies)
5. Make some more goodies for friends, maybe a few hair slides, brooches and a teddy bear perhaps
6. Planting herbs
7. Going to church

AND

Monday: Daniel is here until Wed. Wooooowhoo.

What are you doing this weekend? And gimme your honest opinion on the little dress..ok for a beginner? Pretty good? Don't quit your day job? lol

Catch up with me!!

Us 4 years ago!

Now that I've caught my breath from the weekend and I don't have pain - I'm going to take advantage of it! Some people are asking what I did..there you go! (said in the very same manner as Costa Porticolus from 'My Big Fat Greek Wedding')

Daniel arrived on Valentine's Day at about 2pm. And YES I did get everything done I needed to. I had started roasting the veggies just before he arrived and he was there just in time for the pasta making.

I used chopped: onions, red sweet pepper, red bell pepper, yellow bell pepper, courjette(zuccini), crushed/diced/whole garlic some delicious EVOO and rock salt and pepper, oven roasted on high until all the juices come out and the veggies are all soft and crispy on edges.

Then I used my pasta machine to make and cut the dough I made: eggs, flour and italian herbs.

I layered it on a plate with some fresh parmesian cheese and diced sundried tomatoes (in oil). Daniel said it was the most amazing pasta he has ever had..

I also made these little treats. Elegant (and sorry men, incredibly girly) Rose Cupcakes. I made the roses all different sizes and it looked like a bouquet!

I gave him his gifts, yummy truffles I made. 1/2 are Bailey's Irish Cream Truffles, and the other half are Orange Liquer Truffles. He also fell in love with those too, hehe, look out for the review he's going to do soon. Also..these recipes will be in my cookbook. :)

Him enjoying my gifts. This is the gift I kept secret I wanted so hard to spoil and tell you before I gave it to him. Now he has it..check out the book..right.. "All that men know about women.."

..now look.

It's funny and true! Hehe. He said he was going to fill it with what he knows about women. Which is a lot. ;)
Later we went to a banquet at my church (which I've been reading is the thing to do and a lot of churches are doing it) for dinner and a movie, the movie was FIREPROOF. It's made by the same people that brought you FACING THE GIANTS and it's just as emotional and effective. Daniel really enjoyed it. I did too. We are a bit of movie buff ourselves and to watch something with other people (instead of just me and him in my parents room - American DVD player location) or in my living room) and it was major fun.
Went back home after and watched a movie. I felt very dizzy. I was very wobbly and when I moved my head I felt like I was going to pass out. he took me upstairs and put me in bed where he held my hand and stroked my hair until I fell alseep. He also left his number on speed dial on my phone and slept with the doors open for a while so he could hear me.
Sunday came. we went to church. Had a wonderful lunch. Then we watched BIG in my parents room. Just I was starting to take my Sunday nap..he woke me to inform me it was time for church. It was what our church calls F.I.T. night so a lot was going on. Since he's a musician he helped with the childrens choir - which worked out well coz we had moved the piano out of the back room where the kids were and Daniel brought his guitar! All the while I was in my weightloss class with the other women. - haha doing CAN exercises..you'd be surprised on how that can work your arms! Then we both were in the nursery watch the cutest little boy ever.
Went home watched some more movies and I got a baaaad headache, he contemplated taking me to ER but instead I settled for a cold cloth on the head and Bridget Jones 2 in my room where he sat as I fell alseep.
Loooong I know..but he did stay the whole weekend. He gave me a book "Think and Grow Rich" which he's been reading and me being a business owner - will be very useful, I can't wait to read it. And a very sweet card, BETTER THAN MY MUMS..well..it was one of those fancy "this is how I feel about you" cards in which he wrote in very nice handwriting how he feels about me.
A great weekend..much creativity on the horizon..

Us now <3
(only in a year I'll look more healthy and thin, as I'm getting gastric bypass surgery done very soon)

Hope you enjoyed my shanannigans!

Woe to the weekend..

..I had a great one! Minus some headaches and dizziness. I want to tell you all about it, when I get a couple pictures back from the Valentine's Day.

But I will tell you this..I have the most amazing relationship with the most amazing person I've ever came across, minus my Dad and my brothers. I know I've written about him before..but. this weekend just really went to show how close and real someone can be. How they can be a genuine friend, caretaker and tough person too! (making me go to the dr. and being firm with NHS!!)

Get this. Vday night I got super dizzy, I don't even remember much. But my Daniel took me to bed, put me in it, put his number on the speed dial so I just have to press one button to call him(even though he's in the next room) and in my jibberish sat by my bedside stroking my hair until I fell asleep. He told me he listened for a while whilst my door was open and his too. And the next night I had an aweful headache (I have some problems from a car accident a 8mo ago) and he wanted to take me to ER, but I want to tough it out. So he stayed with me, watching Bridget Jones 2 as I fell asleep and he took my glasses off as I drifted.

I will tell you more and show you pictures soon!

How was your weekend?

PS. I added a new blog to my links on the right. The lovely Tovetyll.

Germany

Germany was fun. It took forever to get there by bus but at least I can say I did it! It wore me out. The Market was AMAZING, the food was great (yum, my kinda food! Love.)

Jesus was packed and ready.

There was inspiration everywhere!! I took notes!!

Hello..I am so going to make these journals..

Because my knee is bad I had to sit out at least an hour, but it was nice munch on a Nutella Chocolate Crepe while listening to this guy..

(I know..long post huh..)
I'm so charmed by BEE products!

I had lots of fun..with..my Mum!

AND..at Starbuks. Dark Cherry Latte!

So after all the inspiration I decided to get crafty.
Today I made these candles that are available in MY SHOP.

They are so delicious. Chocolate Plain Cupcake Candles and Vanilla Frosted Chocolate Cupcake Candles. Yummy!!

Tomorrow I am making Salsa for the church dinner Wednesday. Perhaps I shall take you through that process. I have a few more candles up my sleeve!!

Peace!
