Watch Out
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. 1 Peter 5:8-9
When things seem to be going well - sometimes that is when Satan tries to attack us the most. Know that God wants us to hear Him and acknoledge Him in the good times and the bad. God has infinite power and righteous - we should never doubt or not have faith that he will take care of us, not to say there isn't always something to be learned, but if that is a case look for the lesson and gain strength from the experience.
Satan wants us to think that we are less than we actually are, or that we are not valuable to God at all. He attacks us in ways that we don't even notice sometimes. Sometimes God will use a situation to teach us and strengthen us; however, Satan and his evil ways may cause us to think otherwise. Satan is powerful too. I'm not sure the extent of his power but I do know sin and anything sin natured can affect me. I know Christ as my Saviour and I know I will live in eternity with him - but when I am on this earth, I walk among many evil-doers and sin like anyone else. I am tempted just as anyone is. Whether I give in is another story.
I say this as a warning. Guard your heart over this Holiday Season. This is the season to celebrate God and his Son, Satan will have you believe otherwise. He may even try to make you depressed or feel like there is no hope, he will take any opportunity he can get!
Don't give in. Say to his face that he has no power over you. Tell him you are going to do what God says is right and have peace in it. Most important, trust God like you know you do. Trust Him like a child would - no questions about it. He is you Father, His ways are not our ways and sometimes things will happen to us we do not understand right now or perhaps never will.
I think sometimes we forget we are earthly beings and God is a holy, righteous, all knowing, powerful and loving God. He knows what he is doing, maybe someday you will understand - in this life on earth or as a heavenly being.
God loves you. He wants you to be happy and safe in his arms, let's make it a habit to not fight Him. Always do what God says is right - you can't go wrong. We are not alone. He even gave us an amour!
"Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Ephesians 6:11-18 "
God bless you and Merry Christmas!!
